I got up early and did a morning transport like normal. Am I ok calling anything normal anymore? I go into the office. Now I normally don't go in through the main entrance, I always use the back "employee only entrance". But on days I take one of the co- workers vans I use the main entrance so I can take the keys back to her desk. As I am walking into the building with my hands full, my phone rings. I put all my stuff down and sit at the desk to answer it.


8:37am
Dr. Movva: "Monica glad I am able to get a hold of you. Do you have a few minutes?"
Me: "Of course I do."
Dr. Movva: "So your blood work came back and your protein levels are extremely high and your blood work is abnormal. With these findings I am diagnosing you with multiple myeloma cancer. From here you will be scheduled to see Dr. Fung!"
Me: "Ok" (trying to hold back the crying)
Dr. Movva: Do you have any questions?
Me: "I don't know"
Dr. Movva: Please call me if you do

She continues with a date of scheduled appointments and things.

I hang up and sit there. Christine is behind me. I don't need to say anything she knows. My boss is already there. She tells him I am going for a ride with her. She takes me with her to DD and to pick up a kid for transport.

That day I don't know what I did. I don't know how I made it through. The only thing I remember is that at 8:37am I was told I have CANCER. I have MULTIPLE MYELOMA CANCER and that my life will change forever..

I text Eddie and tell him what happened. He calls right away! He tried to calm me down and rationalize. He is always good at seeing the big picture. Being a good man! He reminds me that I am young and we are catching it early! He also reminds me that I have a ton of people on my side including him! He says, "I am not going anywhere. WE will get through this this."

He hangs up as he has to get back to work but checks on me throughout the day! Also reminds me to focus on Disney!
